Aelia and Aéroports de Paris to open stores at Paris Charles de Gaulle and Paris Orly airports

Published 06 October 2010

Travel retailer Aelia and airport company Aéroports de Paris (AdP) would launch a new branding for the stores operated by their joint venture Société de Distribution Aéroportuaire (SDA) at Paris Charles de Gaulle and Paris Orly airports.

To be rolled out across two locations by 2012-end, the new BuY Paris Duty Free retail concept will focus on a large walk-through store format to take advantage of AdP\'s investment in reconfiguring the retail spaces at both airports. The BuY Paris Duty Free branding is already being used on sales materials such as carrier bags and across gifts accessories and branded sales resources such as fragrance strips. Now, it would be extended to store fascias and wider marketing communications over the next few months. The first new store planned to open under the new brand identity is a multi-category outlet at terminal 1 offering liquor, tobacco products, food and confectionery and covering 500sqm, scheduled to be launched on 1 January 2012. That will be followed in March by a 1,350sqm walk-through shop offering all core duty-free categories at the new junction between terminals A and C, in addition to two last-minute stores of about 300sqm each. The largest new BuY Paris Duty Free store is due to open on 30 June 2012 at the new S4 satellite terminal. Covering 2,200sqm, the walk-through flagship store will offer beauty, gastronomy, confectionery, liquor and tobacco products and will also feature an information desk at a prominent position to ensure passengers are relaxed and know where to go for their flights.
