AIRMALL unveils first in series of duty-free shops to open at Boston airport

RBR Staff Writer Published 25 May 2012

North American airport concessions model developer AIRMALL USA has unveiled the first in a series of duty-free units to open as part of an enhanced duty-free program at the AIRMALL at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS).

Operated by International Shoppes, the first of these units recently opened its doors in Terminal E, selling liquor, tobacco and fragrances to airline passengers.

In January 2012, New York-based International Shoppes has become the new duty-free operator for the AIRMALL at BOS. The contract is for two stores in Terminal B and two stores in Terminal E.

AIRMALL Boston currently manages and develops the retail concessions program for BOS in terminals B and E, which represents a total of 90,000ft² of retail concession space.

The AIRMALL at BOS includes more than 35 restaurants and bars, nearly 20 specialty retail units, 13 news and gift stores, and a host of other services.

AIRMALL USA develops and manages the retail, food and beverage operations at Pittsburgh International Airport, BOS, Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, and Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.
