AVA to open 50 outlets during 2012-13 in India

India-based AVA Merchandizing Solutions plans to open 50 retail outlets during 2012-13.

The company has recently opened retail outlets at Chandigarh Airport and Amritsar International Airport to offer in flight shopping in Chandigarh and Punjab, India.

AVA Merchandizing Solutions MD Amit Chopra told The Financial Express that the company deals in various products including electronics, luggage, toys, jewelry and handbags etc.

Chopra added that the company had strategic tie up with Air India and Jet Airways. The company is also in talks to collaborate with Indian Railways to launch similar services abroad Shatabdi Express trains.

AVA vice-president Samir Singh told the website that the company works on the concept of 'Shop & Collect' and plans to enter into 'signature shoppe concept'.

The company currently operates retail outlets at 32 airports across India.
