Danish airport to revamp duty-free shop

RBR Staff Writer Published 21 December 2011

Billund airport will revamp its duty free shop as it is renovating its airside commercial area and relocation of security.

The duty-free shop will span 7,534ft² under a walk-through model, according to dfnionline.com.

The redevelopment has been a direct response to rise in passenger traffic, which is expected to increase from the current under 2.7 million to about 3.5 million in 2016.

Billund airport has appointed The Design Solution (TDS) to design the new tax- and duty-free store. The new duty-free shop is due for completion in May 2012.

The new airside facilities will include an expanded 19,913ft² of commercial space, 5,381ft² more than previously available.
