Dufry opens additional retail space at São Paulo Airport

Swiss travel retailer Dufry Group has opened the first part of the an additional retail space in Terminal 2 at Guarulhos International Airport in São Paulo, as per the agreement with GRU airport.

The new retail space, which was originally planned to open on 1 July 2013, will add 1,600m² at the arrivals area, while the agreement is expected to open a total additional retail space of 2,290m² in arrival and departure duty free shops.

Dufry currently operates around 1,400 duty-free and duty-paid shops in airports, cruise lines, seaports, railway stations and downtown tourist areas worldwide and employs about 17,000 people.

Meanwhile, the retailer is renovating its departures shop at the airport to add additional retail space in the arrivals and departures areas.

The new Terminal 3 at the airport, which can handle passenger traffic volume of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and 2016 Olympic Games, is scheduled to open in May 2014.
