Duty Free Americas opens two stores at Charlotte-Douglas Airport

RBR Staff Writer Published 24 February 2011

Duty Free Americas (DFA), a US-based duty free retailer chain, has opened two new stores at the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport in North Carolina.

DFA began operations at two new stores in Terminal D and the Atrium recently.

The stores cover a combined 2,252sqft and serve international flights to London, Rio de Janeiro, Frankfurt, Munich, Mexico and Canada, along with various Caribbean destinations.

The new stores offer fragrances, dress and casual watches, gifts, jewelry and travel-related merchandise brands besides liquor and tobacco at duty-free prices to air travellers.

The company is reportedly familiar with the international destinations served by Charlotte-Douglas International Airport and the buying preferences of passengers traveling to those countries.

DFA operates 109 duty free stores in the US, including 46 US airport stores and 63 border stores on the US-Mexico and US-Canada borders.

The company's affiliates also operate duty free stores throughout Latin America and in Macao.
