Gebr Heinemann to open duty free store in Pisa airport, Italy

Published 22 December 2011

German travel retailer Gebr Heinemann has won a tender to open a new Travel Value & Duty Free concession store at Pisa Galileo Galilei airport in Italy.

The company will open the 1,722ft² store in 12 January 2012 using the existing fittings, and in March it will refit the shop completely to introduce a new look, reported DFNIonline.

The new Pisa outlet will be run by subsidiary Travel Retail Italiana, a joint venture between Heinemann and Slovenian partner Regal GH.

The contract will run for six years until 2017 and marks Heinemann's second duty-free presence in Italy, following the opening of two travel-retail locations at Bologna airport earlier in 2011.
