Heinemann opens two duty free shops in Russian airport
Travel retailer Gebr Heinemann has unveiled its first two Heinemann Duty Free outlets at St Petersburg Pulkovo airport in Russia.
The two new locations, which spread over 3,648ft² and 1,227ft² retail space, offer a range of duty-free products including perfumes, cosmetics, liquor, tobacco and confectionery, reported dfnionline.com.
Heinemann will join Aer Rianta International-led joint venture Lenrianta, which has been operating at Pulkovo airport for more than a decade.
Gebr Heinemann co-owner Gunnar Heinemann said the St Petersburg represents another important step as the company continues to establish the Heinemann Duty Free retail brand in all key markets around the world.
"In 2013 there will be a tender process for the new terminal in St Petersburg and we hope to make a successful bid once again, particularly as we have identified outstanding potential for growth in both air passenger numbers and the travel-retail sector here in Russia," Heinemann said.
