LS travel retail, TFS partner to expand duty-free services in India

Travel retailer LS Travel Retail (LSTR) has entered into a new strategic partnership with Indian food & beverages services provider Travel Food Services (TFS), to expand duty-free operations and travel-retail in India

The companies formed a joint venture (JV) to bid for the major duty free tenders at the major Indian airports of Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Bangalore, reported DFNIonlie.com.

TFS will develop the Lagardère Relay news and convenience franchise at Indian airports, metro and railway stations, with LS travel retail supporting it with operational management and category expertise.

Three Relay branded stores at Terminal 1D in Indira Gandhi International Airport will come up as part of the venture.

The outlets will comprise of a 105m² airside store, a 32m² arrivals outlet and a 20m² check-in store, offering books, press, souvenirs, convenience and impulse products.
