Piquadro expands its chain of duty-free stores

Piquadro, the Italian leather goods supplier is expanding its duty-free presence by opening new boutiques at Vienna and Macau airports and has a new store at Rome Fiumicino airport in the pipeline.

In last few months, Piquadro has opened several new locations in Europe and Asia, with more scheduled to launch later in 2010. In July 2010, the company opened a 45 square metre (484 square feet) boutique within The Nuance Group’s duty-free accessories store at Vienna International airport. The company also opened a Piquadro corner with King Power Group (Hong Kong) at Macau International airport in August 2010. In December 2010, the company will open a new dedicated shop in the international departures store at Rome Fiumicino airport. Piquadro already has a 154 square metre (1,657 square feet) standalone boutique at Barcelona El Prat airport terminal one with Spanish retailer Áreas, opened in 2009, as well as a strong presence at Italian airports including Fiumicino, Bologna, Milan Malpensa and Milan Linate. The brand also has a corner with Airest at Moscow Sheremetyevo airport. Piquadro also has products listed in Lufthansa’s inflight duty-free catalogue and has recently started a new collaboration with Swiss Air.
